There is even animals that can live forever such as the lobster. A lobster can die of disease or predator attacks but it cannot die from old age, it is impossible.

i wait for the day for when the 1000-year-old lobster rises up from the ocean like godzilla

and what happened to this huh
Immortality through natural evolution is impossible.

so are you intentionally spouting bullstuff, or are you intentionally contradicting yourself, or are you doing both

what if the immortality is just long lasting non aging clones you could transfer your conscious into?

as long as i don't die between transfers i could live forever technically.

Immortality through natural evolution with humans is impossible.

We are living in the cyber age now time to upgrade our bodies.

Kind of too late for us.

You can only clone babies which will grow up normally like us. You would have to grow up with them naturally.

By the time that technology is out and you're in your 50s you'd have to wait about 18 years until you can have a suitable clone to jump into.

well immortality is usually "You can't die under any circumstances"
Even if you were shot into space and thrown into a supernova, you wouldn't die if you were truly immortal. He clarified that it's just non-aging, which doesn't violate anything.

I believe that is called invincibility. Immortality simply means you don't age if I'm not mistaken.

immortality means you can't die

Immortality means you can't die from old age but you can die from anything else.

Invincible means you can't die, except from old age.

Superman for example is invincible but he can still die from old age.

Immortality through natural evolution with humans is impossible.
It's very improbable that humans would evolve to have millenia-long lifespans, or to no longer age.
It's not however impossible. No one can predict the selection pressures that would push us towards such an evolution.

At any rate such evolution would take millions upon millions of years and our ancestors would be so genetically distinct as to not be considered homo sapiens.

yeah the root of the word mortal is mort which means death so if you add the prefix im- to it then you make it the opposite, so it's the opposite of being able to die. you can't die from anything.

invincibility is practically the same thing, but temporary.

It's very improbable that humans would evolve to have millenia-long lifespans, or to no longer age.

I just said natural evolution is impossible for humans.

We would have to artificially evolve through technology.

You people are just over complicating the word immortality.

You can die from stubbing your toe on a corner and not getting it treated by a doctor which then developed a staph infection and you die.

You just can't age.

Same laws of death apply except for age.

immortality means you can't die
no, I don't think that's correct. you can still die if you're immortal. for example, the elves in LOTR.

the distinction im making is that invincibility means you cant be physically killed / wounded
