Author Topic: Avoid energy absorbing (Long-jump techniques)  (Read 503 times)

So I'm practicing long-jumps for school. I need to be able to jump my height. I can jump up to 2 meters without momentum but it's too rough on my knees. Does any forumer that practices martial arts or athletics know techniques to transfer it to something else? I was using forward-movement to get rid of it but I'm not sure if it's allowed.

roll?
crouch when you land?
it's not hard really

roll?
Yes, it's simple. I'll just watch a few more Bond movies and do it.

crouch when you land?
I thought about doing this but I usually jump from stairs to get down quicker and it's pretty rough. I'll consider it.

Ice your knees for 20-30 minute after track practice. Also, there are a bunch of knee stretches that you can do to prevent any Jumper's Knee inflammation.

Ice anything that hurts you. Stretch anything that hurts you.

source: half of the distance team also does jumping for some reason

ah yes I forgot the "when in doubt, stretch" part in my post, swat got it
