Author Topic: Should I get a core i5 or an i7?  (Read 2339 times)

So, I need some advice on this. Im currently saving up for an Asus G20. and theres 2 kinds i can get. one with a core i5 and core i7. Normally i would go for the cheaper option. but i want some good preformance (and to run reshade or soft shadows on blockland). so what do you all think i should do?

You'll get the same performance in games.

not true for all videogames at all

this

but seriously you only really need an i5 to get 60 fps in pretty much every game, even arma 3 can achieve 50 - 60 on my 6500 skylake

yea if that i7 is pushing budget don't do it, you won't lay awake over it at night, trust me

If you just care about blockland, it doesn't matter. It can only use one core anyways.

from PCMasterRace builds wiki, aka from the guys who build these things a lot

I have an i5-6600, and I've had no issues with blockland using it.
Your cpu won't have that much affect on graphics, so I'd say go with the i5.

have an i5-3570

i7 is literally not needed on potato-baby games like blockland

p much. i have am i7-5820K and the only time it even shows much utilization is when i'm running folding@home

i7 is all but useless for gaming
get i5, it's significantly cheaper

Get an i5 unless you want to do streaming, video editing and all that stuff, then you would go for an i7

well, i think ill get a core i5 then, its like half the price of a g20 with an i7. And i could easily buy one soon.

I bought my computer with i7 because 7>5.

Aren't they the same number..?
5/7 is a perfect score, after all.
