Author Topic: itt we talk about our grades  (Read 3551 times)

3rd semester just came up for me and there's not sugarcoating it this time

I did horrible. Especially in English, where I got screwed over by my group in a group project. My teacher hates me. But I'm a senior and I already got accepted into colleges so it's not all bad.
So yeah, talk about/post your grades

im failing all 7 of my classes so i'd say im doing great this year

I dont have a recent version of my Transcript, but I have all 21 credits I need to graduate, but I still have to go through my senior year to graduate, so I would end up with extra credits
Math was a real bitch for me, Algebra I was OK, Geometry was hard (DAMN PROOFS >:C), Algebra II was... hard and Precalc i got through with a C Minus
French was hard, but it wasnt because of the content itself, its how it was organized. The textbook was so haphazardly organized it was extremely difficult to understand.
Computer Courses I cant get into since they fill up before I even sign up
Im also enrolling in College Credit Plus for Computer Science and a few other computer courses for my Senior so hopefully that goes well.

Since I just started my classes due to seasons being opposite, I can give the grades of my tests. Also, I pass with a 6.

Mathematics IV - 3
Laboratory IV - 9
Food Microbiology - N/A (Still not tested)
Physics - 6
Technology - N/A
English - 8
Ethic and Citizenship - 8
Religion - 6 (Like everyone else in loving chemistry. She can shove her religion up her ass)
History - N/A
Economic History - 7
Sports - 9

Organic Chemistry II - N/A

Chemistry Honors - A
I'm not sure my current algebra grade counts, considering it's from a 7 point assignment.

only one of my classes put in the 4th quarter grade

quarter 3:

F, ?, A, C, C, C, ?
I do have an excuse for business, I just transferred into there and he puts grades in later. I'll have a way better grade in there soon.

last semester i had a 71% in my algebra II class but i got a B

like everything are C's and D's and I have 1 F in art since we're supposed to turn in 1 project a week, and I can't go that fast so rip

When I was in highschool I cruised by with every grade, A's, B's, C's, D's, and E's (we had E not F), not giving a single stuff to do 1 piece of homework but showing up after being absent for like 2 or 3 days at a time and ace quizes and tests no problem. It wasn't the material that was hard, it was the fact that we had so much homework that I simply gave up on ever doing it when I got home because I had a plethora of other responsibilities as well as no room for socializing, going out or doing fun stuff without just saying "forget it".

So as I cruised along painfully being told by administration and teachers that I should probably do my homework, I would always tell them to look at my Illinois Standardized Application Testing grades, my ACT score, my SAT score, my MAP scores and various other testing we did throughout highschool as, well, they were very above average and I was in the top percentile for some. They'd be like well if you understand the material so well maybe we need to put you in more advanced classes, I enlightened them that when I switched from middle school out of district to freshman year in their district, they refused to put me in classes that I should have been in, being told excuses about my transcripts being transferred. So I would be in Algebra 1-2 when I was supposed to be in pre calc. All throughout middle school I was in advanced classes.

So imagine my frustration when the year following my graduation (2014) they loving REMOVED HOMEWORK GRADES COMPLETELY and you do not have to do a lick of homework at all. Your grades are now completely dependent on in class assignments as well as quizes, tests, and participation. Now had that been applied to my case as well as various others' in my class, we would all have top notch GPA's. However, it looks like the current highschoolers get to do exactly what should have been done years and years ago. I understand the principle and ideals behind having homework, and it doesn't go away even as an adult in a work place, but it sure as forget doesn't help any more than it hurts.

So yeah that's my handicapped highschool rant. It almost feels wrong for something that big to happen, to just have a "when homework counted" graduates and "homework doesnt matter" graduates a year apart. I personally know a few kids in school who have dropped out or passed by with an abysmal GPA simply because they didn't do homework. Now what if they had those opportunities that the current kids there do. It's morally forgeted up.

Homework went from 15-40% (depending on teacher or class) of your grade, to 0.000000000000000000000%.

what does ITT mean?

I got on the honor roll again, I really don't feel like trying anymore since it's the last marking period but I probably will anyways.
