My first house was actually built by my father and grandfather sometime in the mid 1900s. Then he let it go to stuff and it was eventually condemned and demolished lol. He sold the property to one of his older sons and he built a new house on the foundation a few years ago.
I also lived in a house he owned that was built sometime in the early 1900s as a farmhouse.
My mom's current house was built in 1960 something by the person she bought it from in 2005.
I rented out a home in the city that was built in the 1840s. One of my friend's bought a home not too far from that one that was even bigger and still had the original layout. Three stories with a separate servant's quarters, dumbwaiters, and all that other stuff lol.
That's one of the things I miss about living in Buffalo; in it's heyday the city was a playground for some of the country's greatest architects and city planners.
