Author Topic: How do I upload a .gif avatar?  (Read 679 times)

/title

When I try uploading gifs it gives me the, "Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information." message

it does this with every gif I try uploading, I've resized it to 74x74 and 75x75

is there a reason for this, do I need to edit the .gif file in some way?

The file size is probably too large, I'm not sure what the max file size is, but there is one.

see if there is metadata or whatever that is

upload it to imgur then use that to be uploaded to your avatar

The file size is 654,954, too big?

thats not a file size

Specific size.

75kb, 75x75 dimensions.

I know, it's weird, but we all have to live with it.

Squeeze it into a smaller file space

What
654kb probably

How do I see the file size?
usually on the explorer folder thing when you highlight the image or gif or whatever

654kb probably
Yes, it only showed 654k so I assumed it meant a thousand.

Does it have to be 75kb specifically?

Does it have to be 75kb specifically?
it depends on how the forums is feeling at the moment

it can be less but i'm not sure about more the forums is finnicky about avatars

71kb is too big

assuming you're talking about a single gif here, post it
