This is true for my school

I'm pretty sure the most any teacher at my school can do is give kids after/pre school detention

they aren't allowed to do anything like give pass (basically detention all during school)

since it was a substitute, she didn't have the power to do any of that stuff so the best she could do was send us to the office, which I still think was a bit overreactive.

i was talking more about why anyone would think that whatever they send someone into the office for is always going to be seen as horrible by everyone else, but that's a good point too i guess.
idk, I'm partially just mad that these are the kind of people who are teaching kids in general/think they're a good potential teacher for children, really
