Author Topic: forget you Sandisk SSDs  (Read 729 times)

loving sandisk ssd lasted not even a god damn year. piece of stuff hardware from a piece of stuff company.

smh

Main hard drive failed, now no OS, and I lost all 120 gigs of stuff on it. can't even freeze it like old hard drives to get at least something from it

fuuuuck sandisssssk

and this only adds to my reluctance to get an SSD

sandisk makes some of the higher rated ssds

why are you saying forget sandisk when this is obviously just a lemon ssd

i don't think that 'forget lemons' is a very appealing title

At least it should still be under warranty

and this only adds to my reluctance to get an SSD
It's not like they fail significantly more than HDDs

ssds are more reliable than hdds

granted i dont know a whole lot about SSDs, but according to OP its either very hard or impossible to recover data from a SSD that's failed. and i dont like the idea of that

i wouldn't keep anything detrimentally important on an ssd thats just for an os anyway so i dont know why OP did that

there are ways to recover data from an ssd but yeah they're not extremely easy

It's a good thing you had your files backed up on a separate drive.

Why do people always forgetin' say this, like they're trying to be all uppity and righteous?

because they're stupid.

it makes sense for stuff to be on the SSD or else it's a waste of space. If I'm putting stuff on the SSD you think I got a drive to back up to??

do you own literally any kind of storage besides your ssd

it doesn't make sense to fill the entire ssd because not using it all would be "a waste of space"

that, is stupid

I have 6 HDDs, all about 1/2TBs each, all only have about 20GBs of space left, if that, and no cash to buy a backup server yet.

Fun fact: No pirated materials either. It's 90% Steam games and backups of assessment work because art college requires everything 4k and a million iterations to show progress.
