i have yet to see a series of swattings not being on the news all over. the media will eat this up considering the fact that the guy is 12 and can use it to push some kind of cause such as increased internet surveillance.
This statement doesn't make sense
1. It implies you know about every single instance of "swatting" to ever occur. Which you don't.
2. Based of my first point you would have no idea if the news has nationally broadcasted every instance of "swatting" because you don't know about every instance of it.
3. Minor events like this really don't make for that big of a news story. News agencies aren't government entities they don't really care about pushing legislation that doesn't directly benefit them. increased internet surveillance doesn't directly benefit them.
