Thats pretty normal behaviour, although 10-20 seconds is quite big. How much ram do you have?

If you need to tab out so much that it's becoming an issue like this, just run Blockland in windowed mode.  That's what I've done the entire time retail has been available.

I am running it in windowed mode dammit. "when i scroll over it with mouse, the in game mouse responded perfectly."

Yeah, it's normal to see decreased performance when you're tabbed over to another program.

No. If it's a ram issue does it happen only when i host? When ever I'm on someone else's server i return in a second.

I sincerely hope you aren't using "No" as a blanket response to what I just said.  Blockland will slow down in terms of frames per second when you tab to another program.  Well, do this.  Compare your RAM / CPU usage when playing someone else's server to RAM / CPU usage when you're hosting your own.  If you're using more while hosting, then logic would suggest that it's to be expected that returning from a tab-out might take longer.

The problem is that it never use to happen on my old comp though i have more ram on this one.

"I have more ram on this one" It's obviously a better computer.

CPU speed matters too.

I used to have 2 bad computers.
One had an OK-ish processor, but only 128mb of RAM.
The other had 256mb of RAM but a suckier processor.

CPU matters more, when it comes down to performance. The better CPU comp. ran various programs better than the one with moar ram.

More RAM doesn't not always mean better RAM.  I'd rather have 2GB of Corsair Pro XMS DDR than 4GB of stuffty no-name RAM.

You may have bogus RAM, If you often crash with bad driver errors, your RAM has an attitude problem.

Err, damn lack of edit.  I meant "does not" or "doesn't", not "doesn't not".

I have more ram a better vid card and a faster cpu.

Sounds like just what every one else gets.
