Well, yes. A clan is a clan, but what I am questioning is the reasoning / seriousness of a clan. For example, CoHort is a general 'serious' clan, as opposed to 'furry dinsey clan (18+!!!!!!!!)' or 'Annoying Orange Airlines'.
It's not that the clans aren't clans, is that they are not serious / made for a laugh.

on the other hand a lot of the actual serious clans are taken way too seriously so

He's probably referring to joke clans that aren't just straight up spam. There's a pretty big difference between joke clans like Blo and even Autism TM, and garbage like cannabis club, yardies and furry dinsey clan

Out of curiosity, what is even the point of clans in a game like Blockland?

In a competitive game like Counter-Strike, I totally get it. Groups of individuals who want to work together to be better than everybody else. Is there any real point in Blockland, though? Maybe groups of people who build things together, but do you really need Clan Discussion section when they can just post their work in the Gallery and talk on something like Skype or Discord?
