It's your decision, a dinosaur hatched the egg, then when it was ready, came out the chicken

everything beyond the very basic concept of life was gained through evolution

the egg-laying method of birth is one of the branches taken by life, i sincerely doubt there's any case of such a complex process being eliminated and then independently re-evolved
