Author Topic: If Blockland 2 were to come out, what would you want to see in it?  (Read 3055 times)

I have always loved the old blphysics

unlimited bricks with no crash (;

edit: I meant this version of torque sucks*, shoulda specified

The newest torque still sucks, so yeah...

A not buggy buildable vehicle

Voice chat, improved physics, and better download times

- Retains all fundamental features like building (duh), vehicles, wrench menu, wrench events, minigames
   i. would be cool if there was an output even that executes a certain block of script too
- Better lighting engine, tangible darkness, more than one shadow-casting light, light transparency
   i. directional lights
ii. a maximum visible light cap above the pathetically abysmal value of 8
- Better optimization, a game that runs like it's 2016 and not, like, 2005
- Better water physics, bring back waves
- Helicopters (imagine that)
- Moving/dynamic bricks
- Multiple brick grids
- Modifiable bricks, no need for 10000 different brick packs all containing the same variation of a 1x14 brick, should just be able to change the size of the brick
- Infinite colorset, having a restricted colorset sucks, something that works on something like FFFFFF would be incredible, as well as being able to save and identify colors
- Terrain, and control over it. heightmaps, terrain brushes, kinda like the old map editor.
   i. could be made from something like modter, would actually prefer that, but whatever goes
- Working vehicle physics
- Flexible working bots with AI that isn't total garbage (pathfinding, melee)
- Doors that dont suck
- Better networking that doesnt take like 5 years to get into a server
- Better projectiles
- Existent development (burn)

most of the problems we have are just because the engine is outdated, torque has a lot of awesome stuff that i'd hate to see go. also i don't want to learn another engine to continue modding blockland

there are engines out there that are both better for Blockland and exponentially easier to mod lol. torque is below the industry standard in every conceivable area imaginable

- A modern engine that is more optimized and easier to run shaders with, that also has the easy to do modding support from Blockland
- Ragdoll physics
- Better physics
- Dynamic lighting
- More vehicle features (sounds, lights, built-in doors and buttons support that is easy to make, better management of drivetrains like sliding RWD cars and so on, handbrake, manual gears)
- New Interiors and Terrain system that looks nice, and it's lightweight.
- Official Blockland 2 Add-Ons website, where add-ons, builds, maps and anything else can be uploaded and updated.
- Baked shadows as an option for low end computers
- Better lights support (more than 7 lights)
- Updated Blockhead model, a bit more detailed and with plenty of more avatar options.
- More default built-in Gamemodes
- Gamemode Creator, easy to use mode that allows you to create gamemodes with ease.
- Movie Creator, also easy to use mode to create videos, add characters and props in the set, record new actors, add camera angles and special effects, alot of cool things.
- Better management of hosting servers, with built-in option to host dedicated ones with an external program so you can close the game and leave the program on until you turn off your computer.
- Stereo support for musics.

Better wrestling action

there are engines out there that are exponentially easier to mod

Examples? Blockland has one of the best modding systems ever made, even if it's quite dated and slow.

I would want it so even old computers could run it good so everyone's happy
instead of only people with supercomputers being able to play it

Examples? Blockland has one of the best modding systems ever made, even if it's quite dated and slow.
basically this
there are very few games (if any) that do modding better than blockland

the only two that come to my mind is garrys mod and minecraft that do any actual heavy modding thats similar to blockland
