- Retains all fundamental features like building (duh), vehicles, wrench menu, wrench events, minigames
i. would be cool if there was an output even that executes a certain block of script too
- Better lighting engine, tangible darkness, more than one shadow-casting light, light transparency
i. directional lights
ii. a maximum visible light cap above the pathetically abysmal value of 8
- Better optimization, a game that runs like it's 2016 and not, like, 2005
- Better water physics, bring back waves
- Helicopters (imagine that)
- Moving/dynamic bricks
- Multiple brick grids
- Modifiable bricks, no need for 10000 different brick packs all containing the same variation of a 1x14 brick, should just be able to change the size of the brick
- Infinite colorset, having a restricted colorset sucks, something that works on something like FFFFFF would be incredible, as well as being able to save and identify colors
- Terrain, and control over it. heightmaps, terrain brushes, kinda like the old map editor.
i. could be made from something like modter, would actually prefer that, but whatever goes
- Working vehicle physics
- Flexible working bots with AI that isn't total garbage (pathfinding, melee)
- Doors that dont suck
- Better networking that doesnt take like 5 years to get into a server
- Better projectiles
- Existent development (burn)
most of the problems we have are just because the engine is outdated, torque has a lot of awesome stuff that i'd hate to see go. also i don't want to learn another engine to continue modding blockland
there are engines out there that are both better for Blockland and exponentially easier to mod lol. torque is below the industry standard in every conceivable area imaginable
