Author Topic: So apperently you have to pay to recycle (+ stuffty tax rant)  (Read 2054 times)

What the actual forget? You literally have to pay to sort out your garbage to get a better environment. No wonder people throw their stuff on the streets or in the woods. Shouldnt we be slightly awarded instead? Like 5 cents less tax/kilogram of garbage? forget do I know. Speaking of tax, we have the gay 21% BTW (tax for buying stuff) for literally everything we buy, and not the mention my country has one of the highest tax rate of 50+ loving percent. Yes, half of my future income will go away. Is the king a jew or something?
So yeah, forget this. Whats the best american state that has google fibre and it p cheap to live in?

I would have thought you were on the French system where recycling is free, but you get taxed (or fined/charged?) for every non-recyclable bag you leave out.
Pretty sure that's the system in France, or parts of France.

We aren't taxed for recycling here as the cost of rubbish collection and recycling is covered by your Council Tax.

We also have 20% VAT on all 'luxury' items, like chocolate, games, sports stuff, etc.
Our income tax isn't as high as 50% though, or at least not for normal/low incomes.

There's a cycle we have every week; general waste is collected once weekly, and then recyclables are collected one week and compost is collected the other. Any "taxes" on garbage are factored into the standard Council Taxes like Dooble.

That said, if you put too much garbage in the bin and it's overflowing, they'll only collect about half of it. Thankfully though, my local council allows one free "collection day" per household; you ring the council, leave your big trash on the lawn and then it's gone when you get home in the afternoon.

I dont recycle lol. Its different at work when paper and cans/glass are in bulk and the company deals with it.

But at home i could give 2 stuffs. Im not making more effort or paying money to do any of it.

But if you get forgeted up and go to the ER it's cheaper so deal with it.

Our universe will literally implode in on itself one day so it's not like recycling will help that lol.

I never understood why american healthcare is so stupidly expensive
Why even?

If we want to live on this planet for another century, yes it does you twat

If every american decided to recycle for the rest of their lives it still wouldn't matter to how much china pollutes the world each day.

You don't want to live on this planet for another century. We are running out of resources. It's getting time for us to colonize other planets.

hahahahahahah ranting about taxes and having less money but wants to go to the US hahaha

You're in a better situation than me, Brazil is literaly the taxland.

Holy stuff just because we all die doesn't mean you can be depressing as forget.

I always think about how back in medieval times the Church took its tenth and the King took his twentieth (and I'm sure local rulers took their portion as well), and how much more money the average American would have if our own taxes stopped there.

You'd have some more, definitely.

But you wouldn't have schools, roads, prisons, sewers, hospitals, police, fire brigades, an army, or any system of welfare.
It's not really wise to look back at the medieval period and wish it was more like then.

I'm under no illusions that those times were all that great.
But I'll go out on a limb and say that I can do without or with less of most of those things (and if I had more money from lower taxes, I could buy them myself).

But I'll stop there, because I see no point in going down this rabbit hole and I've said my peace.
