Author Topic: who here actually bothers to make a new password for every account they make  (Read 1905 times)

I'd just forget it immedietly after. It's not secure, but atleast I can still access my accounts.

i get one password and run with it for years. just hope no one finds out and goes on a mass hacking spree.

talking about security, anyone else use 2step verification or google/steam authenticator? both are decent for protecting your account (the trade restrictions steam did are inexcusable though)

I find it's sometimes better to use the same password just with some capitalizations and numbers switched around. But almost all of my old flashgame accounts had the password "qwertyuiop"

Every single account I own has a different password, each being a completely new set of characters, rather than the same password again but revised

i had to when i made my wells fargo online account

otherwise, sometimes

I don't make a completely new password every time.
There are a number of things that share the same password. But at the very least, all of them share something in common which helps me remember them.

One of my old passwords was 235689147, or xcsdwezaq for a game that didn't allow you to use the numpad for some reason.

I've got one password with its variations to satisfy bullstuff password requirements

I try to keep same passwords on things but passwords are getting ridiculously detailed in the rules to make em.

I only have three passwords I use, each one corrosponding to one of my 3 emails

I have like 10 passwords that's just rearrangements of the same word lol

I use a password manager, so the vast majority of sites I use have a randomly generated password. Works out pretty well I'd say.

ITT: op has someone's password and is trying to get them to respond

I use google authenticator when it's available, cus the app is convenient. but not a whole lot of websites offer it, so I pretty much only use it for github, bitbucket, and a couple of bitcoin websites, lol

as of sorta recently, I do this too. but before then I used mostly the same password on every site. and now with the password manager I'm slowly working on updating them all to random stuff
