Yeah, it's pretty nice, I wish Space Guy would hook up some optional Play GUI modifications with it (so you can see your ammo on the as you play, as apposed to a messageclient or bottomprint).

no if your in a tight point your screwd if you have no ammo

... adding further to the challenge. With an ammo system you can have many different weapons in the same game without everyone using the best weapon all the time.

okay. ill keep it for now.

by the way, i added a poll.

No, have it message them through chat hud, then give them machine guns.

Having ammo would add another level of gayness to mini-games, Oh I ran out of ammo
* Packer goes to pick up ammo
* Packer get spammed to death by ammo campers
For some things it'd be good but in general death matches it'd suck and you'd be better off killing yourself.

I think that if that happened, it would just show poor DM design, and besides, I believe you would start out with some ammo when you spawned, right?

Well, its a double edged sword.

One one hand, with ammo, people could camp the ammo as you said, however people will know that he/she is camping there and can respond accordingly.

On the other hand, without ammo, the player is free to spam his/her weapons where ever they please for as long as they please.

I'd prefer to have ammo, perhaps limit the amount that can be carried (EG. Rocket launcher only holds 2 shots).

Ammo systems are a tried and true method in many games, we don't need to rediscover the wheel. Ammunition has probably been a staple in shooting games for over 20 years now. I think a more reasonable debate is "If we are going to use ammo, how should it be implemented?" I'd rather avoid the system where you have to type a chat command to switch between fire and regular arrows, it takes too long.

The last time I looked at the ammo system, it there was only ammo for the defaut wepons so I say no.

Way to not add anything to the discussion.

If such a system was created, obviously the creator should make it easy to add in new weapons to the system.

He did make it easy to add new weapons.  Only thing is that your playing with guns ans RLs, then you get arrows :|

Wgen I'm running around with duel pistols I don't want to run out of ammo, just too annoying in games that you spam the stuff out of your guns only to run out of ammo in 7 shots. But I doubt it'll be a feature in future versions so I'm not worrying.

wow packer, you sure do use the stuff word alot.

but i guess packer has a point, and made it sound kinda funny i have to admit.
