Author Topic: Just witnessed a solar plane land  (Read 738 times)

good lord we stood for like 5 hours
but it was pretty neat

won't bother getting a picture right now because it's past midnight and I'm tired (you can google it) but the deal is that this was the first time a solar plane is going around the world, it's about half way done now

also we stood on a runway, not very often do most people do that
also I forgot my phone but I brought my 3ds so I took some pretty neat low quality 3d pictures

edit here are some pictures since I just got home

^the plane itself, the Solar Impulse, couldn't find a good picture of it but it has solar panels on the wings

^the plane itself, somewhere else

^the dude flying it

also they started a year ago

its been flying for a year???

wait so

its been flying for a year???
making stops along the way of course but yes
oh and it's wingspan was so large that they had to move it in sideways into the hanger

I keep remembering things that I should've thought of putting earlier:
my mom works at the American Airlines that it landed in so it was pretty neat hearing the loud roars of fighter jets and other planes take off that she has to hear
also her boss was there too, and since it took so long she and everyone else who came can come in to work a lot later tomorrow and my mom's relieved about that
