so is doom even good? are people playing the multiplayer? i've never heard of this game before this thread
Singleplayer is pretty much perfect.
Multiplayer is mediocre and disposable.
Snapmap is a really neat feature but it's a wait and see kinda deal.

Jim Sterlings review on it is pretty good.

Because its hip and cool for developers to name their games after the name of the series/first game.
That said it's pretty impressive to have never heard of doom before.
