Author Topic: PSA: Closing the "Upgrade to Windows 10" box now counts as ACCEPTING the update  (Read 3936 times)

Why not just upgrade? I haven't noticed any extreme bugs despite having the OS since it was released
you haven't but others have (to my knowledge)

different computers

wait what os was it running on originally
My current rig is Win7 but I've already solved any and all Windows 10 popups so I don't get any of those, but for my next build I'm just getting Win10 anyways just incase if it does try to updae, and DX12

windows 10 is p nice. everything runs a lot faster than on 7/8/8.1. i've only had like two problems that i fixed in a few minutes
still a richard move though. come on microsoft

i love 10, i don't understand the hate against it

I have 10 and I like it, in my opinion it's more of a modern Windows 7.

Then again I did get Shell to bring back the old start menu.

my biggest gripe about windows 10 is that it the file viewer doesn't have that thumbnail at the bottom left

i keep getting this weird internet issue where it tells me that some registries are missing, googling it tells me it's a windows 10 bug and troubleshooting it doesnt do much

There is a stuff ton of forced windows 10 topics I'm seeing.

I also happen to be one of them because windows 10 decided to wake my computer up which was off to force a loving update while I was sleeping. The I decided to revert back and it forced me to update again, a constant loop.

This bullstuff is incredibly sinister. I can't understand why a company would want to free software on you (for no profit) that you don't want unless they had something to gain from it, something they're obviously not telling us

First of all they are forcing updates without our consent.

Second of all have you loving read their terms of service? They now can legally submit all your information to police, advertisers, etc. They can even see your screen.

All of that constant monitoring also makes your computer slower too.

it's pretty easy to figure out.

infooooormation

they're pretty much constantly monitoring Win10 users to see exactly what they do and where they go on the Internet, which in turn they take that information and sell it to the highest bidder (corporations and all that) to which they use that information to market said person to a specific thing. It's slimy as forget and there's nothing you can do.

I don't see a reason not to upgrade to Windows 10 though. Windows 7 users have already held out on 8 and 8.1 updates as well. Why run an OS that's three major updates updates old?

I like windows 10 whats the big deal

Windows attempted forcing the update on me but I saw the "reschedule or cancel" text and stopped that stuff right away. I tried Win10 for a bit and I liked it for the most part, but when I went to go draw using my tablet, the OS broke the drivers and it was unusable (I'm not gonna let my $500 device be a vegetable). I then went to return to Win7 and the drivers were still broken. Luckily I had recently cloned my SSD, so I restored the clone prior to my upgrade.

tricking people into using it is not okay
