Author Topic: Is this a good pc build?  (Read 1944 times)

I have looked into building a PC before for modern games such as Fallout 4, Blackops 3, Battlefeild 1, and Mafia 3, and I would like to max these games out, This is my build that I have made to the best of my knowledge, My budget is under $900, I would like to keep the price around the same point its at ($700) however if it is going to cause major damage to preformance then go ahead and recomend aslong as it stays below the $900 Budget,

Here's the build
P.s
I already have a operating system plus 1.5 terabyte hdd, I only have the harddrive because I wanted a solidstate

maybe a 600w psu, 500 SHOULD be fine but i'm not too sure

also save a bit of money, you wont really need more than 8gb of ram if you're just playing games.

MSI 970 GAMING motherboard is the same chipset for that CPU and it's cheaper and pretty much has all the same stuff

the 600 psu was cheaper than the 500,

you cpu is way underpowered

brb making a new list

always have your cpu+board+psu as the best you can afford. it's much easier to upgrade a gpu later on.

stop buying amd processors

That was the original processor I was going to use earlier, But I read a post on some forums saying that gaming on newer games would require more than 3.8GHz , So I picked the amd, My mistake, Also I belive my GPU is better than the one in youre list, correct me if I'm wrong, But I would rather not have to buy a new one a year down the road and just spend the extra money now.

It's the same chip, the difference will be minimal. But a 960 isn't going to cut it if you want everything maxed out.

Best bang for buck would be to get a second hand 980 instead for a total of around $900.

with the 960 what settings do you think I could run fallout 4 60fps (or higher?) on?

high with a few settings turned down, without mods

this is my build list, even though it's probably an illogical one because it was made months ago

EVGA Geforce GTX 980ti

(4) 4 Corsair Vengeance 4GB RAM Sticks DDR 3

Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor (LGA 1151)

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Raidmax Scorpio V
ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO with Intel Z170 (LGA 1151)

Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard + Logitech G700s Gaming Mouse

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930

Corsair RM Series 1000 Watt ATX/EPS Power Supply

im thinking about editing it now, but i think from now you should get a gtx 1080p in general if you want to have a really awesome build.

aaaand people are already starting to confuse 1080p with the gtx 1080

just a 1080 would be close to his entire budget. 980s are around 300 second hand now.

Looks fine, but that case will be a bit hard to work with, not to mention it feels cheap when working inside of it. It's a good case otherwise, I'm using it for my current PC

The deepcool tesseract case is excellent for its price it's great if you want a blue/black theme, as it comes with two blue LED fans
