On a stove!

[BOOM]

...I like salisbury steaks

medium or medium well, depending on the steak

iirc isn't rare basically fresh uncooked and bloody steak?

No, in the words of Gordon Ramsay, "there's a big loving difference between rare and RAW you loving donkey!"

Raw is just uncooked meat. As far as steaks go, it's safe to eat but usually not tasty. Rare (also known as "Blue") is the next step up, it's cooked but still very red in the centre.

It should be noted that Rare is "sealed", meaning the outside appears brown like all the other cooked meats.

that would be "blue" that isnt even on the poll. nor does it even taste good as its basically raw.
but temp has little to do with the actual cooking. so long as a certain temp is there for a certain time to kill the bacteria, its "done" and ready to eat.
the rest is flavor and texture preference.

Rare and raw for beef and other red meats.

Medium for pork and poultry.

The quality of the steak is irrelevant after you go past medium rare - everything just turns into a Wendy's hamburger.

well done is pretty good and if you like anything colder than that then you're an uncivilised primate

but in reality i havent actually eaten anything other than well done and i would like to try rare because it honestly seems weird to me, eating meat with blood

I don't eat steak enough to actually have an answer to this. I don't like eating super red meat tho so probably something at least above medium rare.

-meat-
looks tasty
looks like normal meat to me honestly
blame my dad for not liking rare meat
i'm not much of a meat person anyway
