Author Topic: Why am I being forced to set Windows 7 compatibility on every application  (Read 946 times)

Seriously. Almost every application I have has to be forcefully set to this because anything new crashes without it enabled.

What the hell do I do to fix this?

hahaha funny joke
you asked how to fix it and he told you. Time and time again you prove your stupidity cop.

Alright well then guess what buddy? Not much you can do since modern programs are made for the most current version of Windows. The comptablity feature is there for this exact reason. You asked a question where the answer is "Update it" then laughed when someone suggested it

Why are you acting all high-and-mighty for? Good god who stuff in your cereal

if it were made for the newest version of windows, then compatibility mode for probably windows 7 wouldn't work (keeping on with the same train of logic)

that being said the only answers i could find from a brief google search myself were "bite the bullet and deal with it" or "upgrade to windows 10/fresh install" which is always nice.

have you dug through event logs to see if there are any leads for the crashing

"Why are you acting all high-and-mighty for?" Retype this and I'll respond to it

No one "stuff in my cereal" but dumb questions really have a knack for annoying me.
Especially when the dumb questions get real answers that are ignored

what exactly did it break

This isn't a dumb question though. Him not wanting to update since he's done it before and it forgeted up his computer is a valid reason not to. You didn't jump on him until he laughed at Raven and you just went all white-knight and attacked him for it.

they weren't made for windows 10, they worked on windows 7 before
i'll check the event logs now though

what exactly did it break
- prevented me from installing any drivers
- several apps i used refused to work
- memory usage went way up
- not broken, but major privacy issues

reasons i will never go back
