Author Topic: Twitch Troll paid 50,000 dollars in donations, twitch won't refund it.  (Read 3956 times)

So some kid donated to about 50,000 dollars randomly to a couple of live streams with intent to refund it.

Usually paypal says "okay you want to refund this donation, let's do it."

This time paypal said, "go forget yourself, we finally caught onto this bullstuff. You can't refund this, starfish."

This kid is probably getting his ass beat by his parents now.

breaking news: im ur host, lord tony

anyway yeah i read about this, forget that kid. i still feel a little bad though

well the kid's a complete loving lunatic, who would waste that much on twitch?

He intended to refund all of it.

it's pretty silly that you can even refund it at all tbh like is it that easy to accidentally donate like a hundred bucks or something then think "nah" a minute later

Kids going to be a kid. If the adult streamers keep the money theyre loving pathetic imo

I like when people try and get a refund on donations. Like, do you know what the forget a donation means? Regardless of being a stupid loving troll or not, donations should have full intent of giving the recipient money with zero expectations of something in return. I hope this kid gets reamed as forget, I feel sorry for the parents having to deal with such a stuff-for-brain and having to pay off something like that.

So if you got 50k you wouldn't take it

You shouldn't be able to refund a donation anyways, it's a loving donation.

The thing is for a long time if you refund a donation the person who received the donation will be hit with chargeback fees.

So say I donate 50,000 dollars to some guy then charge back the money. If that guy spent any of the 50,000 dollars he will be hit with chargeback fees and his account will be in the red. Chargeback fees could be up to 20 dollars to over 10,000 dollars.

forget the "." in $2.50

suddenly you just donated $250

You can't make a counter claim to a donation chargeback because the donated never received a physical good and you have no proof of physical goods.

It's like when people donate to servers on TF2 for special bonuses but then charge back and they get to keep the bonuses because a digital item is not a physical good so they can just say "they never got it"

So if you got 50k you wouldn't take it
This is not as simple as "lol wow free 50k"
I like money but does possibly crippling a family sit right with you?
Id keep like 1000 though tbh.
1000 isnt much

Yes.

First of all it's the parent's fault for not keeping a control of their credit card and child.

Second of all you also would have been crippled if the chargeback was successful. If you spent about 10,000 of the 50,000 within 1 year (they can chargeback up to 1 year, some will wait that long for maximum troll reults). Then you will owe the chargeback donator 10,000 dollars and you will owe payback in chargeback fees for potentially thousands of dollars and your account will be deactivated. All money in the paypal account will be frozen too.

So forget that kid.

Kids going to be a kid
this article says he is 18, so he would know exactly what he's doing

brothers all calling him a loving kid
I thought he was like 14 or something because I only see autistic teens on twitch.
