I don't think anyone missed that

forget the "." in $2.50

suddenly you just donated $250
Whoops, donated 1000$ instead of 10.00$.

Economy is hell.

uhh he's just gonna chargeback it. he'll call up his credit cards and ask them to reverse it. i'm sure its gonna be a lot easier to reverse a donation, since you didn't pay for anything. it's probably gonna be completely refundable with your bank whether its moral or not.

i don't think these streamers are gonna lose much money--but i have heard they will have to pay a tax that wont be refunded. in that case, they should file a lawsuit against him to sue for their damages.

let's not sit around and act like he's actually gonna end up paying this lol. all its gonna do it hurt his credit
I would imagine any bank/credit card company would contact paypal, since that's who he sent the donations with, and paypal would inform them of the situation. Plus if he tried that I'd bet paypal would leave his account in a negative and send it to debt collections or file a lawsuit. Maybe not but who knows.

"I meant to send $5.0000!!!"

You literally just made the same point as who you replied to.

"I meant to send $5.0000!!!"

On the same subject, though, this likely would never happen because of online transactions. This is implying you forgot the decimal, of course, though most online banks/transfer programs either don't allow cents or have a separate text box (because it's a pain in the ass to implement string -> float when you have to deal with edge cases in typing: "$$10.02.1" in your text box).

Of course, some companies have different ways of doing this and it really isn't that hard to convert "$10.00" to a float, but you'll probably still have warnings like: "did you mean $10.00 instead of $1000?" Moreover, who the heck types out: "$10.00" when they're trying to send ten dollars? At that point, it's practically your fault for giving away $1000. (Though I still believe you should be able to get a refund).

Finally, if you're doing it over check, you have to write out the amount of money in english, where if you write "one thousand dollars" for "$10.00," that's your own fault. Paypal has full rights to say they're not refunding $50k; The guy's obviously a repeat offender and didn't just mess up donating $500. If you watch the streams, he donates $2.5k twenty times, where it's obvious that the kid (18 year old whatever) has malicious intent.

almost math
It seems you cant understand a joke. You should not be in the BLF when half of the userbase is laughing joking numbnuts.

That or you are trying to ruin fun on purpose with serious stuff.

one minor problem: repeating someone else's point isn't a joke

you shouldn't be on BLF if that amount of criticism makes you this upset

Twitch should just refund it for the sake of the parents. That's the right choice.

what the kid did was wrong, and he deserves punishment. however, financially crippling him and his family for years to pay for his mistake just doesn't morally sit right with me. PayPal and twitch are very rich companies. i hope that they work something out.
