i think the point is that he was shirking responsibility for something that he presented as fact. if he's the face of his organization or w/e, and he's the one that's getting the credit for calling people out, then he also bears the responsibility when the report is wrong. you don't say, "keemstar's news team found out that this guy sucks!!" you say, "keemstar told everyone this guy sucks!!" and so equally, you would say that keemstar is responsible for relaying incredibly harmful misinformation. if you have confidence in your news team it makes sense that you wouldn't question their conclusions, but keemstar is the one that would be held responsible.
