Author Topic: Looking for a new laptop, $500-$999  (Read 1688 times)

As the title says, I'm looking for a new laptop because my laptop has about had it. I've heard ASUS is good for the purpose I'm looking for.

What I'm looking for is something I can run Fallout 3/NV and Skyrim on smoothly with higher graphics settings and mods. It has to have atleast an 8gb RAM and 620GB hard drive.

(Sorry if I sound kind of dumb, just getting into technical stuff)

8 GB RAM
128GB SSD, 1TB HDD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M 2GB
15.6" 1920x1080 display

are you going to be travelling with it or will it stay on a desk most of its life

lenovo y50 or y70
they're a bit expensive though

I know you're joking but jesus, why would anyone even buy that? It'd probably cost you around a grand or more to build it yourself, not 5 times that.

Yeah, just surprised that that laptop is so expensive for what's in it.

EDIT: Realised the 980s were in SLI and it had a 512gb SSD etc...

EXCUSE ME WHAT

EDIT: You could just get the one I'm getting. Pretty much the best laptop I've seen for this price. Only downside is that it has an SSD and isn't quite as big as what you need, but it does have another HDD slot.

It'd stay on a desk most of the time but having it small enough to fit in a backpack would be nice, I'm not so worried about resolution as I'll be using a 32in TV for my monitor while gaming

Did you see the link I posted?
