So yeah, Islam is one of many things that does cause terrorism, and it's by far the most prominent of them right now.

Most 1st world 'believers' in these religions don't follow them to the letter, not even close ... Ask your average christian in the USA if they've read the whole bible, they haven't.  They're not actually that religious, it's more of a self delusion to fit in with their local communities.

uh, no. in islam it isn't an extremist belief to want to kill gays. its the LAW in most islamic countries. and this is the mainstream belief, unless you are trying to say that saudi arabia, etc are extremist countries?

yeah it applies to all mainstream religions.  i think human psychology is definitely different depending on your community and environmental situations.  uneducated people in desperate, desolate places get brainwashed from birth into thinking that they can have a better afterlife with 72 virgins by doing 1 simple trick!  blow up the infidels and we'll hook ya'll up real good afterwards....

The Quran teaches to slaughter nonbelievers. It's true that many "non-extremist" Muslims don't follow this and many other things the Quran teaches, but that's because they aren't truly sticking to their Islamic religion.

It's tragic that this act of terrorism came to pass, especially after this man had already been on the FBI's radar for a few years.

This is a problem in Islam, yes, but the true problem lies with Wahhabism. Wahhabism is the denomination in Islam (Christian Denominations also work this way, IE Different branches, like Catholicism, Protestantism, Mormon, etc) founded back in the 1800's by a Islamic scholar named Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhabid. Wahhabism (Also called Salafism) is the denomination that Saudi Arabia, Boko Haram, ISIL, al-Qaeda, and other Islamist groups practice. Most of these terror attacks in the name of Islam are performed by Salafists who want to establish by violence a Global Caliphate and subjugate non muslims into either Death or Conversion to Islam.
