I frequently open the windows and block the vents when its <40F outside. The room my computer's in has no cold air return so it doesn't force the furnace to run 24/7 to try to heat this room.

I also open my window when sleeping and it's cold outside. If I'm not using at least 1 heavier blanket something is wrong.

Depends on where I'm living and who's staying with me. I like it a lot colder inside compared to most people. Luckily my own house has a thermostat in almost every room, so I normally set the main rooms at 18 degrees and my room at 16 degrees
