Author Topic: Build Loading in PTG  (Read 430 times)

I have been having problems in trying to load a build onto PTG. I'm wondering if someone could explain to me how that works.

Build loading can be somewhat complicated, but here is a basic overview of how to setup builds to be used by the generator:

First, under the Options tab of the Build Loading window, make sure "Enable Build Loading" is enabled. It's also recommended to keep "Enable Flat Area Generation" disabled, as it sometimes prevents builds from loading in order to generate flat sections of terrain.

Under the Your Brick Saves tab, select the yellow Reload List button to load all the .bls saves on your computer. Then, select the build you want to use from the list, click the green Upload Selected button, and choose the options for that build in the small window that pops up (leaving everything as it's set up by default is usually best when your just getting used to the build loading feature).

When the parameters for you build have been set up in the pop up window, click the green Upload To Server button - this will gradually send the .bls save across the network, and then convert / save it in another format that the generator can use. Uploading can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the size of the file.

Once the file has finished being uploading to the server and converted, it'll automatically show up in the builds list under the Loaded Builds tab (you can click the yellow Reload List button to show all saves that have been uploaded and can be used by the generator). If needed, you can select a build from the list, and click the Remove Selected button, the Edit button or the Toggle On/Off button to make changes to that particular build (applied immediately once clicked). The parameters you set up for each build are also shown in the list, showing a "X" for each option you selected per build.

Builds might now show up right away, depending on the options set up for them and the features enabled for terrain; just generating basic terrain without water or other features, or using the "Flat Lands" terrain type under the Setup window, are great ways to test loaded builds. Hope that helps. :)
