Author Topic: summer school is loving me over  (Read 1407 times)

starting yesterday, I've been having to wake up at 5/6 to go to AM summer school for geometry as some of you probably know. well, I've managed to finish half the course in 2 days, meaning I'll probably be done with everything by Thursday. In my mind, this means i can graduate from summer school by Thursday instead of having to go there until mid-July. But no, the school requires me to attend every class or else I'll immediately fail Geometry and ultimately the 10th grade, just because of my loving attendance. This is bullstuff, what a waste of time. You're telling me you want me to wake up at 5 and come into the class I've already finished and sit there for 4 hours doing nothing? What a load of stuff. To make matters worse, this AM class already forgets up my schedule already because I have my 6-7 hour work shift right after. I wake up at 5 and go to bed at 2, this whole thing is loving me up and I can't continue it into July, especially if I finish the class. What's your opinion

if you actually aren't doing anything until july then just draw or do whatever while you sit there
its bullstuff but if you have to pass the 10th grade i'd do it

gross, just bring a laptop or something i guess

if you did well in the summer course then see if your parents can bitch about it or something. at least at my school, when parents come and raise hell then stuff gets changed just so that the parents stop complaining.

this sounds like hell. id bring my laptop and just live with dying every day

can't, they won't allow laptops

my schools run by total numbskulls that can't fix or change anything. I'm going to talk to my teacher once I finish the course just to see if there's any exceptions.

Part of summer school is attendance. The work doesn't really matter, it just matters that you show up and 'complete' it.

You've finished half the course in 2 days, but the question is can you pass the exam if it were given to you now?

No considering I haven't done the other half.

Right, but should it be required for someone who completed the entire course to still show up? Right now, all summer school is doing is just ruining my sleep schedule and making me exhausted the rest of the day.

What I mean is that, from experience, you can't study everything 4 days before an exam and expect to do well. It's a mistake a lot of people I know have made including myself while I was still in school

is it possible to sleep in class

bring a pillow or something?

is that a challenge

I have passed all 23 tests I've taken in there the past few days and taken the exam for "Semester A". The whole thing is split up into two semester categories and I've already completed the first exam with ease. I couldn't take the second exam yet because I haven't gone through anything from Semester B.

she won't let anyone sleep

is that a challenge
*wakes up from sleep to go school* *goes school just to sleep more*

if it comes down to this, make an arrangement with the teacher, principle, or counselor because this is bullstuff

23 tests just in the past few days?!

the most important argument is the fact that you have work that you must do as a citizen and you must sleep for health, school cannot get in the way of your health-sleep

honestly this looks like your best solution

either you can raise a stuffstorm about this, which won't work that well because they'll just see you as some whiner. But if you bring your parents in and they raise a fuss they should listen to you, and if they don't listen then, you options are to continue with this horrendous schedule or drop out. My school is like this too, you ask them to do something for you, they go "sorry we can't blahlabalha horsestuff" and then if you bring your parents in they're like "OH WE'LL GET RIGHT ON IT".

just make sure you make it a very valid point that you've pretty much finished what you need to do there and if they keep you there for the rest of summer you're going to do literally nothing.
