Author Topic: [UK EU Referendum] - UK VOTES LEAVE | 51.89% // 48.11%  (Read 48691 times)

I think someone on reddit was saying like 60% of the votes in the petition weren't even from the UK.
I don't know how you check that though.
I wouldn't doubt it. I just made an account and voted.

they didn't count constituencies.
the majority of the votes are still from the uk, and far past the threshhold of 100,000 to begin with

not that i support it, that is

there shouldn't be a revote cause that's stupid as forget
people made the decision and now they should have to live with be decision that they made

they should have to live with be decision that they made
why, exactly, in this case?

Democracy =/= Call revotes until you get the outcome you want

And I have no idea which side to choose, this is just how democracy works. Nothing has changed from what everybody predicted would happen if it was voted to leave. Things are going exactly as expected as of right now.

Most everyone loves democracy until it produces an outcome they don't agree with.

Same with the freedom of speech. The number of people that say they support the free expression of ideas versus the number that actually put their money where their mouth is and actually respect other people's right to disagree with/offend them is pretty funny.

In their defense, pure democracies do not usually exist because they can create outcomes that are damaging to large groups of people. Republics and parliaments usually work better because they're more efficient and can stop mob rule.

There's a petition signed by 2.5 million asking for another referendum.
It's now got almost 3,200,000 signatures, but I don't think it'll pass.

This too, the only way they check if you are eligible to sign it is by you ticking a box.

how many people voted for the opposite of what they loving think?
"i voted for X but good things did not immediately happen, please reverse vote"

"I voted not knowing what I actually voted for"

the right to free speech is not the right to say whatever you want to whoever you want without consequences. just as you have the right to say something stupid, someone else has to right to tell you that what you said was stupid. and if you're talking about specific websites that may not allow you to say certain things, you never had that right in the first place

so do the leave campaign actually have a plan?
or did they not think they'd win and are collectively bricking themselves as they realize what they're going to have to deal with
