Doesn't matter. Fighting globalism is its own victory. Just like some people fight racism, I think a lot of people these days are choosing to protect national sovereignty.
Think about it, in the stone ages, human mental capacity and capacity of travel allowed for cave communities. Fast forward to family relations, then villages, then towns, then cities, city states, juristictions, countries etc. As our mental capacity and capacity of travel increases, so will our scope of co-operation. It is not bad, not even neutral, it's a good thing. The EU started with the Coal and Steel Pact between post-WWII France and Germany and the union expanding got Europe out of the effects of the most crippling war in recorded history and made it into a global economic superpower.
