Author Topic: blogland: i am becoming frustrated with piano  (Read 1056 times)

i can't really afford piano lessons, so i can't take them. i've just been playing anime songs and undertale music and stuff, everything a step up is too difficult and i'm not sure what to play next or how to practice. i know how to switch scales and proper finger placement but i'm not really sure what to learn next. any suggestions?

Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson

What I've done for guitar and what might work for you is I look at bands or soundtracks i really enjoy and i practice tabs/chords/sheets of those songs and i always look for more to practice, more that are harder and have more interesting and unique ways to play or have things i'm not good at in them and i just practice those, also you could probably learn more piano off the internet.

Git gud
Keep practicing.
Watch midis or something if you don't know a note
Don't start with mirai nikki piano intro because that stuff is loving insane

Try playing Krone from guilty krown. It's p easy.

Holy forget I was about to type a song from Runescape then played it in my head and just got this huge flashback of nostalgia Jesus Christ

all the songs i like are too difficult to practice and end up frustrating me, but i'll try again

I mean you need a goal man, I'm forming a band and i want to try and cover a few Dragonforce songs so i gotta become fast.

How long have you been doing it? It can take a long time to make a significant amount of progress, and it's easier with lessons.
You can still do it without lessons but plad has a good point on goals.

do it line by line. don't look at the piece as a whole, but break it into sections and don't go on until you've got the section you're working on down.

Even I can play it and I don't even own a piano.

Once you get the basics down for sheet music it shouldn't be too hard. I've been playing piano for nearly 14 years though, started when I was five or six and sorta just kept working at it. It's really all about persistence and memory.

Get familiar with the keys and experiment with simple songs. Look up sheet tutorials on the internet, there's bound to be a fair bit of info.
