in 2013, texas passed a law that required small-scale clinics to meet the same criteria as professional hospitals, a measure which reduced the number of abortion clinics from 42 to 19 and was set to fall to 10 if not for a SCOTUS intervention.

SCOTUS declared the state law unconstitutional under the abortion rights outlined by Roe v. Wade, making Whole Women's Health v. Hellerstedt (this case) a landmark in abortion rights as SCOTUS prepares to tackle other states for similar obstacle-building

TL;DR : perhaps unobstructed abortion and easily available contraceptives in the future?

That's nice. Does this apply to other states with these restrictions, or just Texas?

right now it only applies to texas, but there are about 12 other states lined up the same way

I remember the day when some Christians came to my school and handed out anti-abortion things to everybody who walked out at the end of the day. They had a bunch of signs up around an intersection too. If that wasn't bad enough, they had kids that were probably in middle/elementary handing out stuff too. Poor kids. The police got involved, which was pretty funny.

in fact this entire topic, while informative, is just begging for a huge argument

I'll just sum up the debate before it even happens

Conservatives: It's a life
Liberals: No it isn't

Poor kids? Why, because they are being indoctrinated into a different ideology than the one YOU are being indoctrinated into?  And your version of reality is clearly superior to all other world views.  Because everyone who is anyone knows that all Christians are tribals that want to kill gay people and force women into a box.

and force women into a box.
Is that some special interest I'm not aware of

as long as everyone can be mature about it, (which won't happen, by the way) I don't see anything wrong with posting controversial topics as long as the OP is fact and w/o bias

Conservatives: It's a life
Liberals: No it isn't
this is a hilarious explanation to be honest

WHY DON'T WE JUST KILL EVERYBODY
THAT WAY THERE'S NO MORE CHILDREN
