as a gay guy tbh I don't mind this
ya im trans and like both lovees and i dont mind at all, its pretty funny to see actually

Its all good. People getting butthurt need to stop though, you get a month, let straights have their day.

see now this ideology really bugs me

"they get a month, so why don't we get one! we get a day and you get a month so therefore it's fair"

the reason why this bothers me is because it feels like both "sides" of the argument are "fighting" over a single day or month or whatever, where I think the optimal result would just to have no pride months in general and just have people accept people for what they are

People shouldn't get so upset about a single day  :panda:

I'm just saying that should calm down, its kind of a waste of energy and makes you look stupid if somebody gets a day.

Its like getting butthurt over a birthday

#BreathingAirDay is an important day of human history

this is the most stupid thing to get mad over, like im pretty sure the only people that get genuinely mad at this are the same kind of people who call themselves gay just to feel special, instead of actually meaning it

just to have no pride months in general and just have people accept people for what they are
I've been saying this for years!

Like, if the LGBT+ community really wants to present themselves as normal people with totally natural identities and all that, then maybe it would make more sense to avoid high-profile pride whatever. Because by marching in a gay pride parade, you're basically saying your loveuality is something to be proud of and being straight isn't. And honestly that bothers me about the gay community. That's why I still argue aggressively against "gay pride." Like, if you really believe you were born with it, you've got NOTHING to be proud of. You're just another person who happens to like whatever it is you like. Get over yourselves.

well think about it like this, all the people who are gay because they actually are gay get oppressed politically for the past century, then this joke pride day comes out completely mocking peoples struggles

of course the lgbt crowd is going to be at least somewhat upset. some people are, of course, over reacting, but man are just annoyed by the fact that people are mocking them.

moreover, the base of this holiday is more negative than positive. if it was funny, like going: "straight pride day lol" as a joke, then it would be totally okay - anyone getting annoyed by it would be over reacting. however, this holiday was based on 90's opposition to the gay pride movement (http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/happy-heteroloveual-pride-day-article-1.2692558) which is why several people aren't very happy.

of course, most of the people upset by it probably haven't even looked at the news or know the base behind it, and are just trying to find a reason to be upset.

see, I agree with this - but I've always thought gay pride was "necessary" in one form or another. don't get me wrong, i don't think i'm special because i like richards, but i feel that gay pride should really be named political advocacy - as that's what most of it is aiming to do. the parades make absolutely no sense to me, i've never got those - but talented lawyers and politicians should work towards creating a better status for gays in modern society, not a ton of leather-clad weirdos on the street.

edit: sorry for double post

everyone who is getting upset about this is the result of heteroloveual love

top kek
what if it was artificial semination

technically speaking for they (hetero, homo, etc) all to be "truly equal" they must have their own "celebration day" or have no celebration days at all

ya, this is what i said in OP as well

not going to disagree

Tbh no one should have a pride day anymore, gays aren't getting oppressed in most first world countries anymore and going on twitter to say #gaypride isn't gonna change people's minds in other countries
