i really never understood the backlash of the concept of things like white history month or straight pride day/week. aren't the point of gay pride events and black history month to not objectify those involved? they just bring negative attention to themselves by shooting down other proposed days like heteroloveual day and making themselves the center of attention. sure, the point of black history month and gay day are to commemorate the freedom and fight for equality for what they believe in, but by calling a straight pride day or a white history month unneeded and controversial, aren't they going against what they're standing for in the first place lmao
