He's arguably the best shredder ever but he's the most under-appreciated guitarist; Buckethead.  This guy makes some of the best music I've ever heard.  I'll link a few songs that I think you should look at below:

Buckethead - Griffin's Spike
Buckethead - Jowls
Buckethead - The Redeem Team
Buckethead - Lebron
Buckethead - Lebrontron
Buckethead - King James
Buckethead - Soothsayer
Buckethead - Jordan
Buckethead - Gory Head Stump
Buckethead - 7 Laws of Woo
Buckethead - The Interworld and The New Innocence
Buckethead - Magellan's Maze

Did I mention Buckethead has more than 250 loving albums?  This guy is god.

Lemon Demon a loving billion times
I love Lemon Demon.

For me it's the Toadies. I've never met anyone who's heard of 'em.

Nirvana is pretty underrated
Pffft, that's like saying Pink Floyd and The Beatles are hidden gems.

Now true nirvana fans are few and far between but they aren't underrated by a long shot.

im borderline obsessed with basically anything Adam Young does, including his old ambient/post-rock works like Port Blue to his most well known alias Owl City.

I also know various
avant-garde,
old,
or foriegn
artists that i think could use more attention

My friends don't know about Blue Murder or Iron Maiden but I absolutely love them both, not saying that you guys prob don't
