Author Topic: Can I replace a graphics card in an all in one computer?  (Read 1492 times)

i want a dedicated graphics card instead of an integrated one so I wanted to replace it. is this possible?

Anything is possible. But idk...

Check up the make of your computer and see what graphics cards can be put in it, if any, you need to check these things really.

Anything is possible. But idk...
dont even post anything if you are just going to say that

we all know you're handicapped but you dont have to exclaim it in every single topic

Probably not. Most of the components in an all in one are designed to fit the space desired. I doubt the motherboard has an Express x16 anywhere on it. The only thing you might be able to upgrade might be the RAM and HD. Go ahead and open it up and look for yourself. Everything is soldered to the motherboard.

You seem like a really unhelpful guy irl.

If the card is intergated I doubt the producer even bothered to add a slot for dedicated GCs, like Alk said the best you could do is add more ram/install a bigger HD

I mean it is an AIO computer, so it probably doesn't have a dedicated PCI-E lane and and probably has the current graphics soldered in. I would say no, but if you can find a PCI-E lane then you have a chance if it isn't those stupid half-height slots.
Anything is possible. But idk...
please enlighten me why this guy is still here

If your Mobo has a PCIe (or PCI x16) slot you can put a GPU in there
that is if the GPU isnt too big and fits in your case

Also we have a thread for this

i'm not sure you'd want to replace the integrated chip, since isn't that the CPU + GPU in one?
it'd be better to add the graphics card if possible, instead of replacing one

Because software = hardware
And a monitor is an internal part of a pc
Oh and lets not mention thats a post from a year ago

you can't replace it since, well being integrated, it is a part of the motherboard, but just adding the graphics card would probably be the same (you might have to tweak a setting to use the new graphics card by default, but i don't know about that). the thing is that since it's an all-in-one there will probably not be any room/extra pci-e slots.

well what computer is it exactly.

you also dont need to replace the integrated, you just dont use it and use the other.

depends on what AIO it is. some may have a pcie lane.

also depends on if you've got the space for it.
