overclocking is super simple, and as communistsquared said, there is protection built in ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
just look up a guide with for your cpu. You could also get a non-k cpu or just not overclock at all with AMD. It only provides a few more frames anyways. (at least on Intel i dont know what overclocking with AMD is like)

would anyone mind telling me if there's anything wrong with this build?

i mean like i would drop in 16gbs since modern games are taking up loads of ram now
also why a 6400 do a 6500
there's a better cheaper motherboard

1: dont use a z170 motherboard if you're not gonna overclock, just wasted potential.
2: get an ssd
3: wait for custom rx 480's to come out so you can save some $ on the gpu stuff
also 2.7ghz i5 lmao

you don't need an i7 for gaming

and 2.7ghz is incredibly low for current gaming
