Author Topic: Server not on list - will not post to master server  (Read 2330 times)

I've dreaded making a topic for help on this because the only similar topics I have found ended without any major/specific resolution. Basically, my server will not show up on the join list (as found out by multiple friends) and when I start the server it gives me an error:

"ERROR: WebCom_PostServer() - mission is not running"

When I attempt to manually post the server with the command "WebCom_PostServer();" I also get the following error:

"Posting to master failed.  Reason: No user"

I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this. I have played Blockland for years, although I have been absent from hosting for some months now although the only major changes in my system has been an upgrade to Windows 10.

To make it clear: my server does not show up on the list at all. I can easily play on it myself (although with a possible lag increase when deleting moderate amounts of bricks at once). Here is everything I have done so far to try and correct the problem:
  • Port-forwarded port 28000 (duh, and I even used a tool to check the port was open)
  • Tried UPnP, both enabled/disabled ingame and through router
  • Turned off firewall and Windows Defender just in case
  • Reinstalled Blockland
  • Removed all downloaded addons from folder
  • Disabled all addons completely
  • Installed on laptop (I use steam) and portforwarded it
  • Turned off/reset router multiple times as well as modem

I really am in desperate need of some kind of solution. I feel as though with all I have tried it may be my ISP, but I have absolutely no explanation so far as to what my ISP could have done to cause these issues when I have otherwise perfect internet and can join games easily. Some kind of elaboration on the errors and potential causes would be great.

Below is my console log on my fresh installed game with absolutely no downloads and on the freebuild gamemode.

Excuse me, but, what ISP do you have? Other users have reported the same issue (having the same ISP). It may be Cloudflare not responding correctly

but without knowing what trickery Cloudflare does, I can't say for certain

I saw similar threads where people talked about using CenturyLink, which I assume you are referencing? Unfortunately though I use to use them but a couple years ago we switched to Charter and has worked up until I started playing again the past week.

No idea what Cloudflare is to be honest either. I wish I was more knowledgeable because this is truly frustrating.

Also as a further note, I did get a random player to join the game a week ago out of nowhere. He was then subsequently dropped from the server within half an hour. That is so far the only instant where a player has been able to connect, and ive had the server open and running for long periods since then.

I also have tried using the regular BlocklandLauncher instead of steam, so I don't think I can narrow it down to that either.

Yeah well if this error is across multiple ISPs, I guess I can see why Tech support can't help at all (or they're just lazy not to check what can connect through my ISP)

It's not every ISP in the world, its most likely a problem with the caching system CloudFlare puts into place (to reduce traffic/mitigate DDOS attacks). It's not something you can deal with ATM because Baldspot has the controls over it.

so I have to Email Badspot to fix that stuff? great...

I already did. Just try to play other games/things until this gets fixed (hopefully soon)

Oh I can still play, I just cant host in any  manner.

Can you try again?  Do you have any conflicting UPNP software?

I have the exact issue, tried the same methods as stated, but still nothing. I do have CenturyLink, but I'm not sure if it's the problem, since others claim they have Xfinity, and others.

If you're having this problem, go to this page: http://blockland.us/iptest.php

Copy the results, paste them to me.  You can PM or email me if you don't want to publicly post your IP address.

I'm having this issue, this is what I got:

I have a dynamic IP, would that change anything?
