Author Topic: [news' news] black man shot by police outside of store, appeared to be armed  (Read 2172 times)

This is true, but it forgeted up when a man shoots up a church or a movie theater doesn't get shot but a man who was possibly armed selling CDs but detained gets killed.
Yes, but I don't see the connection to race.

those were mass shootings. they most likely brought on a more professional team (which know how to handle the situation) to detain them instead of two city cops who shoot when they hear gun.

There was one white guy who shot up a movie theater (That was so heartbreaking) an another white guy who shot up a black church because he was just tribal.

Yeah that true.

are you saying we shouldn't expect cops to keep their cool

Because nobody cares if a white person is shot. Not that it doesn't happen, but it just doesn't matter. We're in 2016 remember?

Seriously. White people get shot by cops all the time but it's not good for the outrage machine. If you want to get views and attention you got to get a black person shot committing a crime only to downplay his crimes later on.

really

Wait is there a debate going on or just some weird form of banter

You can see from the video that the officers didn't have the intent to shoot him immediately. He can be seen struggling on the ground and it took one of them alone to pin his arms

also it's tribal from both sides to automatically make this an us vs. them situation.

Even though this is a really hard situation to discuss. If someone has surrendered after being tasered then there is no need to simply kill him however he threatened someone's life with that gun he had while robbing the shop. It is a very hard situation

I saw something about this on the news and one guy had a Trayvon Martin shirt

This isn't going to end well

I'm going to give all of you a tip for dealing with police officers that will likely reduce the chance of you getting shot to almost none:

Don't fight the officers.

That's it. That's all there is to it. If a cop tackles you to the ground, lay down on the ground. Stay down on the ground. It doesn't matter if they're right or wrong, they've got a gun pointed at you. If you've got two cops holding you to the ground, and you are trying to shake them off you so you can get up, then I don't know what to tell you when you get shot. This band-aid works irrelevant of race, so next time you've got an officer yelling commands at you, give it a try.

I mean, you're not wrong, but it's kind of missing the point. We're pretty much the only developed nation whose police force relies on lethal force instead of de-escalation. He probably would have lived had he not struggled, but that doesn't justify allowing a servant of the public to basically execute someone for resisting arrest.

It's not supposed to address the point. It's supposed to teach you how to not get shot. I'll actually expand that advice to anyone who is, or very easily can be, using potentially legal force to control you. If you do what they say, you're far less likely to get loving shot.

I'd say the same logic applies to burglars and meth-heads as well. Kind of sad that we have to group our police officers in with them.
