comparing me to someone who thinks gay marriage will lead to inter-species marriage is a stupid attempt to derail my argument, dumb cunt.
Stop throwing around insults, it makes you look childish. It was an example of an equivalent slippery slope argument. It's invalid.

looking childish doesn't invalidate what I have to say, not to mention don't know why you're targeting me when there's this
Then stop being a loving dumb cunt. Getting sick of the stuffty snarky attitude at this rate. It is quite literally the exact same faulty logic.
kden, Iq

That's what I'm saying? First responders having better equipment does not imply a police state. Liberal use of SWAT and National Guard to violate people's rights does. It has absolutely nothing to do with giving first responders tactical equipment.
already stated my reasoning for why it does over and over again but if that's your opinion then that's your opinion.

Oh okay cool so now we're talking about national socialist Germany. The people who lived in national socialist Germany did not have rights. We do. They specifically armed their military for absolute mass and total control. I'm talking about giving cops better gear so that they might be more loving safe. Talk about a 'stupid attempt to derail my argument'.
actually let's take a glance back into the past shall we.

I'm 100% for the militarization of police. We need Kent State again on a massive scale.
I wouldn't trade 1 dead cop for 10,000 dead BLM protesters.
It should be the belligerents receiving casualties.
you certainly want the cops to be safer to the point of trading one life for 10,000 others, this seems to be more about violence than safety to me.

national socialist Germany didn't turn into a genocidal dictatorship because the police had scary looking body armor for forgets sakes it happened because they were in a state of total economic disaster and they allowed a maniac to exploit their post-war nationalism into committing genocidal chaos. We've had legislature in place for over 300 years which prevents this from happening in America and giving Officer Bob a cool helmet to wear at the next chimp out isn't going to change that.
let's take a look at America shall we:

>economy's forgeted/currently getting forgeted
>maniac aka Obama/Clinton exploiting current-war nationalism
>committing genocide aka all these wars in the middle east for resources which in the process has killed millions

actually you're right national socialist Germany was in a pretty different situation from us

I was watching The Kelly File and later she was monitoring both protests in Times-square and Dallas and minutes after not focusing on Dallas both screens are showed and we see bodies on the road.. The Dallas cam. Pure uncensored dead cops next to their squad cars.. I feel bad for the officers that put their life on the line for us.

you certainly want the cops to be safer to the point of trading one life for 10,000 others, this seems to be more about violence than safety to me.

I can admit that I said those things in poor taste because I was pissed off. The better equipped our officers are, the better they are at doing their job, which includes protecting non-violent protesters.

already stated my reasoning for why it does over and over again but if that's your opinion then that's your opinion.

I still don't understand your reasoning. You act as though arming beat cops is giving the state resources to commit acts of tyranny. It's just simply not.

actually you're right national socialist Germany was in a pretty different situation from us

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, because this statement is undoubtedly true.

looking childish doesn't invalidate what I have to say, not to mention don't know why you're targeting me when there's this
I wasn't targeting you. You initiated it as far as I could see and I hadn't seen Rallys post when I posted it, but,

Then stop being a loving dumb cunt.
Stop throwing around insults. It makes you look childish.

And it was still a slippery slope fallacy. That's not changed.

while I certainly don't agree with rally i think a lot of the responses were strawmanning him. he said that he wanted the police to be more militarized, not necessarily more aggressive and/or oppressive, and certainly not shooting into protests to shut them down. while the 10k for 1 comparison was a little sociopathical I don't think he was fully serious in it.

now, I personally think the militarization of the police needs to match the militarization of the people. since people can carry guns, the police should too, so I think our system is currently adequate. however I believe that the role of police officer is the role of a public servant--not just a career. so in taking that role you should accept the risks and also accept that you will not be protected above other citizens. now, I do think we need to re-train our officers to be less violent and trigger-happy, perhaps having them wield tazers immediately rather than their firearms. also, it should be mandated that all officers wear body-cams, which film at all times, so that we may protect both the citizens from abusive officers and the officers from lying civilians. anyone who opposes body cam use is an idiot

I found a Huffington Post article somewhere about how "Good guys with guns" didn't stop the shooting

My brother-n-law lives in Tennessee and while driving on one of the routes to his home.. he passed by a convoy of white-APCs and armored trucks.
He didn't get a good look because he was on the opposite side of the road. I don't got anymore to say about this though.. Any ideas on what he saw? I don't have a clue. US Military don't drive white vehicles unless it's in the winter or somewhere cold and this happend yesterday afternoon. My sister called my parents worried after watching the Dallas attack and then hearing what my brother saw.

i am 99% sure you're memeing/bullstuffting here or using some copypasta (especially from the structure of your post) but if your 'brother-in-law' did see them they fit the description of UN vehicles, which were rumored to be showing up by people on 4chan and facebook which i'd take with a grain of salt actually no it's all pretty much memeing, the UN really isn't that efficient and it would take them way, way longer than a week to deploy peacekeepers

imo it's entirely bullstuff and so is your post but chances are if your post is true it's just more armored vehicles being shipped in to your state's/one of your state's law enforcement agencies

-unexpected drama-

Woah I didn't even know there was a meme for this. I'm just going by what he said. He saw them, he saw them. I believe him. Thanks for telling me what he saw exactly though..? But why would UN vehicles be shipped to our bases and stuff? We manufacture our own war vehicles.. right?
