Author Topic: Can we talk about how terrible EA and Origin is  (Read 1275 times)

So I just bought a $60 Origin gift card but when I tried to scratch off the code, I scratched off some of the digits and I discarded my receipt so lets see if Origin support can help me out
I go into an Origin help chat and they say that they cannot tell me my own damn code, despite the fact I have the serial number of the card, and tell them the 10 digits that I can see.
EA, I hope you go bankrupt.

The only reason I have Origin is to play Mass Effect 3

why do you discard receipts.

you just got the card right? dig into your loving trash can.

why did you buy an origin card if you knew origin and ea sucks prior to this?

I don't have a need for them until now

I at least thought they could tell me a simple loving code

This is standard across all giftcards for online stores, whether Origin, iTunes, Steam, Xbox, etc...
The codes are either generated at the till (in the case of swipe cards with no scratch-off) or are only known on the card.

That's why they tell you to be careful with the cards and why shops can't give refunds for them.

I've had this issue with Battle.net and Steam and they all helped me out with scratched off codes

Maybe you should be more careful when revealing the codes if scratching them off is a recurring issue for you.

or maybe the producer of these cards shouldn't make such cheap stuff, I barely put any pressure on the card w a coin and 7 digits were COMPLETELY erased

Why the forget were you trusting EA in the first place?  :cookieMonster:

No. We are forbidden. Repent!! Repent I say!!!

There was already an answer earlier in the thread, because he wanted to play mass effect 3.

No, I was the one with the ME3 post. I think hes talking about Sheep's post actually

Oh my mistake

but still my point stands, a lot of the games on origin require the service and are exclusive to origin, so you really can't not work with EA if you want to play said games

I want all the battlefields to be on steam. forget ea.
