I'm with Rally on this one. The unfortunate nature of many social justice movements of today is that the varying perspectives on the issue always somehow culminate under one mantra or "idea", even though they could be near polar opposites under that mantra. So, the only way to say what BLM (or any other of these movements) is to judge them on their actions by those who brand themselves as part of the "movement". That's the closest we can get.

BLM does have leaders, who represent the interests of the group. No BLM affiliated leader has called for violence of any kind. A nonviolent protest is a legal right. Calling for civil disobedience is also a right, however calling for violence is not.
