i always trust user reviews more than professional critic reviews

I see user reviews would very high compared to other reviews.

Meanwhile on IMDb:
You can literally tell Sony is desperately rigging the critical ratings for this awful movie.

here's the fun part. i bet you the majority of people voting 10 or 1 have not seen the movie.

that's the issue with remakes, people think they know everything about them without watching them

imo I didn't see the movie, so I can't really judge how good it is, simple as that

they no longer capture ghosts. proton packs just kill them now...
thats a big change actually.

It's almost like this movie literally happened 'cause some fat cats were like "Hmm, what beloved movie franchise can we make a mindless sequel to, to leech off of the success of the original?" with literally no regard for the canon

It's nice to know that after all the negativity surrounding this movie that it ends up just being a disposable, average movie that everyone will forget about and move on from in a few months.

pretty much, they turned it into one of those incredibly stupid movies targeted at teens where the content for every joke is nudity, love, or saying a bad word.

loving christ I just want a good comedy with wit why can't we have that.

If you want a good comedy movie watch anything by Edgar Wright or Sacha Baron Cohen. Most American comedy films are stuff nowadays because they try too hard to be funny and are more focused into writing characters into the jokes rather than the jokes into the characters.

The movie literally ends with them shooting the ghost "in the richard."

It's just sad at this point.

I kinda. Both seems like a mixed bag.

yeah but i can usually relate more to average joes like myself (users who write reviews) than i can to people who do it for a living (professional critics)

Jesus, that sounds like a bad Seth Rogen movie.

Really? God damn
And people are actually endorsing the film?

Top critics apparently don't like as much; it's only gotten 53% from them so far

So it seems like all the amateur critics are just trying to give it a pass

not a fan of Sacha's stuff really but I do like pretty much all of Edgar Wright's movies.

good lord.

also bravo to the New York Times for making the bad ratings about discrimination against women and ignoring the fact that the movie is genuinely unfunny.
