It was probably a pair of thunderbirds because eclipses awaken them from hibernation. not many people know that. that's why the day after the eclipse you can expect to see headlines that people were killed, because the birds must feed after hibernating for so long.

But the thunderbirds' internal astral clocks are so fine tuned they can sense it coming ahead of time. They are not hostile to other avians, lucky for you, but for a bear like me...... let's just say I won't be coming out of my cave for a while.
