wrong, sort ofif the christmas lights are DC (which most christmas lights are) and well rectified, they won't flickerhowever a filament light or light connected to AC mains would flicker faster than the eye could see but long exposure/fast shutter speeds pick it uphttps://youtu.be/SAvYvfg41FU here is a video of it in action
