there's nothing wrong with the idea of criminalizing bigoted harassment, the only problem is that, in practice, you have to somehow make a standard for this and prove that a case fits that standard. as you might guess that's actually pretty impossible; you either over-enforce it or you just accept that you can't win and call it a day. it's the same reason that it'd be hard to actually solve any wage gap nonsense caused by loveism. it's hard to prove and hard to enforce, and that's the biggest issue with things like this. it's just too impractical.
