Author Topic: It's a hate crime in the UK to upset women.  (Read 8030 times)

You're talking about assault which was a crime before this article was published. Rape, assault, stalking and (actual) harassment are already crimes. The article is talking about tumblr-tier boohoo stuff like getting whistled at or someone raising their voice at you.
which article did you read? The one i read didn't actually mention catcalls or flirting. It said 'harassment' which is pretty broad

The one Gytyyhgfffff posted. Harassment is already a crime. The new training involves 'street harassment' which is a scary word for cat calling.

who dictates what qualifies as harassment
where is the line drawn between being rude and disorderly conduct?

Exactly

I can see this bullstuff being a huge mess for multiple reasons. Now women will be running to the authorities when men simply compliment them on their appearance.

it seems like you can still upset women, you can't just do stuff like forgetin approach random ass women in the street and touch them/flirt with them
how is this a bad thing lol

Makes you wonder what counter measures they have in place to make this doesn't happen. (If they have any at all).

my assumption is that it will take the same road as the pseudo-rape allegation issue

Either way, this will not put the UK in the best light for some. Lets hope the skeptical decisions stop.

i would hope that the majority don't feel the need to be concerned about their civil liberty to harass people in a foreign country

well apparently it's only one county in the UK so it really shouldn't apply for the rest of the UK

Which county? (I'm actually curious as to which one it is).

Another good reason to avoid unnecessary engagement with women.
