apart from the ungoldy long walking sections that made me hate it
I personally loved those. The eerie atmosphere of an abandoned city, getting a drop on Covenant patrols, spotting Virgils signs leading to logs and unlocking caches, and zipping down streets in a mongoose.
The story pieces were cool too, and had interesting environments, but you didn't always get long to soak it in.
I appreciated one chance in the Halo franchise to feel like a regular soldier, in an honest combat zone, for a realistic length of time.
Not every Halo game needs it, but ODST made good use of it.
I know everyone hates Starbound and it's cool to hate it and whatever but every time it's brought up I just have to mention that I've played 750 hours of it and I'm still definitely going to go back to it more after it hits 1.0, which is going to be later this month I think. It was just very much worth my money.
This is why I don't put it in the Regret column. Despite having never gotten too far, I've played several characters and enjoyed it, and somehow it's one of my most played games.
Am I disappointed that development is slower than I'd like, and that some developments haven't been ideal? Yes.
Am I disappointed in the game as a whole? No.
Do I regret buying it? No.
